Vanquis is a long-established UK bank, with roots dating back to 1880. With a mission to be firmly in their customers corner, Vanquis specialises in making credit cards easier to apply for and savings easier to manage. Their customer-first approach has helped them build trust with a wide and diverse audience, both in the UK and across parts of Europe.
When Vanquis approached us, they were facing challenges with an outdated website that no longer reflected their brand or met the expectations of modern users. The site lacked key accessibility features, fell short of current design and performance standards and wasn't optimised for search. It was clear they needed more than a visual refresh, they needed a robust digital platform that could deliver on speed, usability and inclusivity.
We set out to deliver Vanquis a smooth and fast user experience, improve accessibility so the website could cater to all audiences and to strengthen SEO to boost discoverability and overall digital performance. To achieve this they needed to partner with a team capable of delivering a robust solution while translating their ambitions into a future-ready website.
We began by auditing the existing functionality and worked closely with Vanquis to identify what could be improved or streamlined. Our team rebuilt key areas of the site using custom Elementor widgets, allowing greater flexibility and control over content while ensuring the components aligned with accessibility best practices.
A core focus of the build was performance. By optimising and refining code where necessary, we were able to achieve a 100/100 performance score on Google Lighthouse, a significant leap from where the site had started.
We also ensured the website adhered to WCAG accessibility standards, making it inclusive for users with visual impairments or those navigating by keyboard. Combined with SEO improvements like cleaner semantic structure and faster load times, the new site positions Vanquis to better serve all users while meeting search engine expectations.
